Mount Olive Baptist Church is seeking a part-time (12-15 hours per week) Food Service Director. The individual will be responsible for managing food service operations for the church and for assisting with catered contracted events. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

• Oversee the operations of the kitchen and banquet hall;
• Serve as Master Chef;
• Plan menus and purchase food;
• Prepare and serve food;
• Purchase kitchen supplies and small appliances as needed;
• Maintain equipment and train users of the equipment on an as needed basis;
• Ensure that the dining area and kitchen including utensils are cleaned on same day as event;
• Ensure safety standards, food storage, and sanitation procedures are followed;
• Recruit volunteers and train as needed;
• Oversee food service staff and volunteers, i.e. cooks, food preparers, kitchen assistants, servers;
• Maintain records including food production, inventory, meal counts, purchases, equipment, supplies, etc
• Assist, as needed, with tours of the banquet facilities;
• Prepare and manage the food service budget; and
• Provide monthly food service reports to Director of Administration and Operations and food service reports for the Official Board on an as needed basis.

The preferred candidate will have food service, master chef, culinary or related experience, two (2) years of college and five (5) years of previous work experience. Public speaking experience computer skills (Word, Excel, and specialized software) and people management skills are a must. The incumbent will be required to complete Food Service Management Certification at The University of Richmond School of Professional and Continuing Studies. The recommended certification level is “professional.”
