Part Time Food Service Support – Chef/Server

POSITION: CHEF/SERVER 

MOUNT OLIVE BAPTIST CHURCH 

PART-TIME POSITION WITH NO BENEFITS ON – CALL (AS NEEDED)

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Individual will be responsible for prepping, cooking, and serving food.  This position reports directly to the Food Service Manager.  In the absence of the Food Service Manager, this position will report to the Church Administrator.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Prepping food;

·         Cooking food to include sautéing, roasting, braising, broiling and grilling;

·         Assisting with the preparation of soups, starches, pastas, and other cold foods such as salads, dressings, and gravies;

·         Carrying food, silverware, and/or linen on trays, or use carts;

·         Removing trays, and stacking dishes for return to the kitchen after meals are finished;

·         Stocking service stations with items such as ice, napkins and straws; taking food orders and relaying orders to the kitchen;

·         Placing food servings on plates and trays according to orders or instructions;

·         Loading trays with accessories such as eating utensils, napkins, and condiments;

·         Monitoring food distribution and ensuring that meals are delivered to the correct recipients;

·         Assisting with cleanup of the kitchen and dining hall; and

·         Performing other duties as assigned by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

The preferred candidate will have 5 years of previous job related work experience.  Computer skills (Word, Excel and specialized software) and people skills are a must.
